Today I did something very exciting… I did a 5-hour workshop, on zoom, with Wim Hof, ‘The Iceman’ himself!! Ok, him and roughly 3000 other people😆
So who is he? Wim Hof is a Dutch motivational speaker, famous for his ability to withstand freezing temperatures. Google him, he’s awesome! And he’s funny too, loved his workshop today (and no, I’m not getting paid for saying this, haha, just wanted to share my experience with you as it was REALLY cool (yep, that was on purpose😜)…
The Wim Hof Workshop
So I found this$39 workshop on his website. It was 5-hrs long and consisted of an introduction, meditation, guided breathing, ice bathing and Q&A.
The Wim Hof Method is all about reconnecting us – to ourselves, to others and to nature. To establish this, Wim Hof created three pillars: Breathing Exercises, Cold Therapy and Training Your Mindset. When combined, these three pillars should help you to become HAPPIER, HEALTHIER AND STRONGER! Wim Hof claims that other benefits of his method include:
- Stress reduction
- Faster recovery from physical exertion
- Better sleep
- Improved sports performance
- Enhanced creativity
- More focus and mental clarity
My Results
Sounds amazing, no? Well, today was my first experience with the Wim Hof Method and I must say, I felt REALLY good afterwards. I felt refreshed, full of energy & I had a clear mind… which isn’t easy for my OCD brain! Of course 5 hours doesn´t give you all the above benefits, that would be too easy. But I´m definitely continuing the breathing exercises and I will start taking cold showers every day too, as I think he might be on to something…
I also decided to add this workshop IN REAL LIFE to my 3-7th May Sober Retreat in Tarifa, Spain! I want to offer you guys the opportunity to try this there. Check all details on my retreat HERE!
My two favourite quotes of Wim today were when he was speaking about drugs & alcohol and said: “I´m high on my own supply!” & “I´m drunk on life!” Wim doesn´t need any substances to get happy in life, just breathing exercises and cold exposure.
Have you heard of Wim Hof before and/or do you regularly meditate and breathing sessions? Would love to hear your experiences!

PS: I only made it to 45 secs in our freezing (12 degrees Celsius) pool today but will work on that 😉
