Listen Bar Cocktail Class

Last night I joined the free, virtual non-alcoholic COCKTAIL CLASS from the Listen Bar in Brooklyn, NY. And it was so much fun!! It was sponsored by Lyre´s – A company that provides, in my opinion, the best non-alcoholic spirits available on the market at the moment. But more on them later…

The Listen Bar is a booze-free bar in Brooklyn. With their motto being: “all bar, no booze”​ Listen Bar rewrites nightlife beyond alcohol – right in NYC, the city that defines nightlife itself. With an expertly-crafted menu by some of the biggest names in mixology. Featuring the most exciting alcohol-free brands from around the world. 

While in lockdown, the founder of the bar, Lorelei Bandrovschi, decided to start offering weekly virtual cocktail classes! And last night she made 3 amazing cocktails that I made wíth her in my own kitchen:

1. Smoked with Snoop
2. Because the Night
3. Spritz Lyfe

I can´t share the official recipes with you due to the owner´s request of keeping them secret… However, these are the 3 cocktails that I made myself:

Cocktail number 1

Ingredients:
30 ml Homemade Syrup (base is citrus fruits, cloves and something sweet)
90 ml Lyre´s American Malt
A few drops of CBD (optional)

Recipe:
Put 30 ml of the Homemade Syrup into a shaker. Then, if you want, you can add a few drops of CBD oil and you stir this. After this you pour in the Lyre´s American Malt. Finally you put a handful of ice cubes in a [MBP_AA_LINK “MBP_AA_LINK_ROCKSGLASS”] and you stir and strain. ALL DONE!! You can garnish the drink with an orange peel and/or a cinnamon stick to make it look extra professional.

Cocktail 2 

Ingredients:
30 ml Lyre´s Dark Cane Spirit
30 ml Lyre´s Spiced Cane Spirit
45 ml Lyre´s Coffee Originale
A touch of whipped cream (homemade or shop bought – I did the latter)

Recipe:
You get yourself a [MBP_AA_LINK “MBP_AA_LINK_ROCKSGLASS”] and put the 3 parts of Lyre´s in there first. Then you add some ice cubes and you top it all up with a touch of whipped cream. Easy does it!

Cocktail 3 

Ingredients:
45 ml Lyre´s Italian Spritz
15ml Lyre´s Italian Orange 
15 ml Lyre´s Aperitif Dry
90 ml of non-alcoholic Sparkling wine

Recipe:
Pour all 3 Lyre´s drinks in a [MBP_AA_LINK “MBP_AA_LINK_WINEGLASS”]. Top it up with the non-alcoholic Sparkling wine and then fill the glass with ice. If you want you can garnish the drink with an orange peel.

VERDICT

I found this cocktail class very inspiring!! 🍸💃 How cool was it to be online with so many people at the same time (I think there were like 40 participants) while all focusing on what Lorelei Bandrovschi & Saara Untracht-Oakner were making and saying… – I will def join again!

Fun fact: The name Lyre´s is based on Lyrebirds – Lyrebirds are most well-known for their impressive ability to mimic sounds. Mimic being the keyword here 😉
