Tonight no. 16 in my 24 non-alcoholic Cocktails of Xmas – the Turbo Tonic…!!
Tonight I’m making one by the book! I bought this cute little non-alcoholic cocktail book called: “[MBP_AA_LINK “MBP_AA_LINK_MOCKTAILSBOOK”]“ and my eyes fell on this one. It´s quite a different cocktail, this Turbo Tonic… Here´s how to make it:
Ingredients ➡️
Ice cubes
200ml tonic water
2 tbsp hot or chilled espresso
2 tsp of (homemade) juniper syrup
+ For the juniper syrup:
10-15 juniper berries
250ml water
50gr sugar

If you want to make the juniper syrup from scratch, this is how to do it…
Add the juniper berries to a saucepan with the water and sugar and bring it to the boil. Remove from the heat and leave to cool, then strain into a clean bottle and store in the fridge.
Now the cocktail — Fill a [MBP_AA_LINK “MBP_AA_LINK_HIGHBALL”] with ice cubes. Add 2 teaspoons of the juniper syrup, pour over the tonic water and gently stir. Then you place a spoon against the inside edge of the glass and slowly pour the espresso over the back of the spoon to float. Serve immediately! Pretty cool eh…
Result ➡️ This non-alcoholic cocktail has a very original, special flavour… First you taste the bitterness of the espresso and then you get a hit of ?? Something… haha It’s sweet but at the same time bitter-ish. Oh and with bubbles… Yeah I recommend to just try this one yourself.
